Sterling Silver Care

  • Clean your sterling silver jewelry with a mild soap and water solution, and patting dry and clean it with a soft cloth.
  • For more stubborn dirt, use a jewelry cleaner designed for silver use. (If you do use silver cleaner, make sure you keep it away from opal or any gems set in the silver.)
  • Only use a soft polishing cloth or a fine piece of felt to clean sterling silver. Tissue paper or paper towels contain fibers can cause scratches.
  • Make sure your silver is not exposed to air and light during storage: this can cause silver to tarnish. Do not wear sterling silver in chlorinated water or when working with household chemicals.
  • The same as opals and opal jewelry care mentioned above, keep your opal and other gemstone silver jewelry free of salt water, cosmetics, hair spray, perfumes, perspiration and any harsh chemicals. Do not subject the stone to extremes of heat, cold and dryness and opal doublet and triplet can not be immersed in water.
  • Store silver in a tarnish-preventive bag or wrapped in a soft piece of felt or cloth. Store pieces individually in case of knock together and scratch.
